If you follow my blog, you know that we are budget DIY enthusiasts. We created a DIY home-gym out of some empty storage space in the basement, provided tips about a DIY remedy for removing a “Stink in Your Sink” and of course, our DIY Peloton App experience.
Now it was time to turn our attention to our dated maple kitchen cabinets. We knew when we bought the house that we wanted new cabinets but what we didn’t realize was just how expensive new cabinets could be. Way outside of our budget.
After months of research, we decided to paint them ourselves. It was much more work that we ever anticipated but the cabinets came out beautiful and it saved us heaps of money. We owe it all to some old fashioned hard-work, elbow grease, loads of patience and of course, this special cabinet paint, but more on that later.

It was driving us gonzo! A sewer-like odor coming from our shower. We poured soap, we poured Drano, we poured anything we could get our hands on down the drain but we couldn’t get rid of the smell. We finally learned that it was sewer gas coming from drainage system. Pee-ewe!
Hi! A real short one for my readers. Have you ever spilled some red wine on your couch or rug? Well, it has happened to me more than once and I have found the absolute best solution. It is called “Wine Away” and it makes the red wine disappear in minutes. Just the other day I accidentally kicked over a glass of red wine that I had placed on our rattan rug in our sun room (yes, I know, a very bad spot for a glass of wine…) and the stain disappeared with just a couple of squirts. I was skeptical but it is magical. It says that it also removes coffee, ink, blood, sauces, fruit punch, red medicine stains, and even pet accidents but I have only ever tried it on red wine.
