I have some exciting news. Equinox recently announced that starting this Fall, it will launch a digital fitness platform which will include classes and content from its family of brands, including SoulCycle and Precision Run. The new platform will integrate live and on-demand content from over 300 locations.
The SoulCycle App
Now, while its clear that the SoulCycle experience will include (expensive) bikes and treadmills with a built in screens like Peloton, it is unclear whether it will have a stand-alone SoulCycle App that will let you take the SoulCycle classes with y your own spin bike (like Peloton does with the Peloton App).
Fingers crossed. I really hope that it does as it will allow me to use my fabulous Sunny bike with my trusty Wahoo speed and cadence sensors to take the SoulCycle spin classes. In fact, the idea that there would be Peloton competitors and more on-demand options in the future is one of the reasons I chose to use the Peloton App with my Sunny exercise bike instead of buying the Peloton Bike. I love the Peloton app classes but I equally love the SoulCycle “nightclub experience.” If they can come close to replicating that feeling at home, it will be a huge hit.
Like they say, competition is good and variety is the spice of life. 🙂
