I have some exciting news! Equinox recently announced that starting this Fall, they will launch a digital fitness platform. This digital fitness platform will include classes and content from its family of brands, including SoulCycle and Precision Run! The new platform will integrate live and on-demand content (pre-pandemic, the content was going to be from over 300 locations but I imagine that they have streamlined that a bit).
[Big update below]
The SoulCycle App
How much does the Peloton App cost? Boy, I get this question a lot.
I get a lot of emails asking me to respond with a simple list of all the bits and bobs needed to use the Peloton App with your own spin bike (meaning, without the actual Peloton bike). Well, in addition to replying to those emails, I thought that I would post my advice here, too.
Of course, my detailed review of the Peloton App with all the lovely pictures and videos can be found in my super popular Peloton Alternative post!
Here is my list
Great news. Peloton just announced that you can now preload classes with the Peloton App. This is great if you have WiFi issues (the dreaded buffering) or you want to take the classes on on the go.
I get a lot of emails from folks that have read my “Peloton for Less” blog post with questions about the various bits and bobs that I use with the Peloton App and my Sunny bike alternative.
While I’ve included some pictures to my earlier posts, I thought it would be helpful to add a few videos of me on my Sunny 1509.
Very exciting news! I got my 1st shout-out from Miss Ally Love during my 250th ride with the Peloton App. I normally only take on-demand classes but with such a milestone, I rolled the dice, crossed my fingers and took a live class hoping to hear my screen name.
Half-way through the class, I was delighted to hear Ally exclaim, “MomJeans1973. 250th on the App. What’s up?!”
By now you know that I love cycling with my Peloton App (and if you don’t, here is my earlier review: My Peloton Bike Alternative). Despite the mad love, I wanted more variety so that I didn’t plateau on the bike. Peloton’s “After the Ride” classes are great but I needed some more oomph. After experimenting with some random classes on YouTube I signed up for a 30 day free trial of Daily Burn to supplement the Peloton and I am super glad that I did. Now what I do is alternate between Daily Burn and Peloton classes.
What is Daily Burn you ask? I only just learned about it myself.
Well, its been 6 months since I started my Peloton journey with my inexpensive Sunny bike and I could not be happier. I cannot say enough good things about the Peloton App.
I have lost weight, I am sleeping better than ever and I am much more energetic. The classes are interactive and communal but at the same time very intimate. Also, the instructors rock – they are very motivational, although I like some better than others.
I get a lot of email asking about how all the components of my “Peloton App Setup” are holding up so I thought I would post a review about some of the items that I recommended in my original post “My Peloton Bike Alternative; A Great Money Saving Hack.”
Here is what has worked well and what you can skip:
I am pumped. Peloton just announced the “Peloton Tread” – which they describe as a ‘private fitness studio in your own home both on and off the treadmill.’ Sounds pretty sweet. I already love the Peloton App and I think it just got even better.
