You’ve asked and I answered. With permission from Peloton App User #Libow, I’ve posted a pretty comprehensive review of about 40 different spin bikes to use with the Peloton App (at a fraction of the price). This list includes almost everything you will need to know to help you decide which at-home spin bike is best for you and your budget.

Are you considering getting your significant other a Peloton exercise bike for Valentine’s Day? What a great idea! While prices are down for first-generation Pelotons, there are still other options to consider.
And if you are reading my blog, you are probably looking for a cheaper alternative to the Peloton. I get it – you may not be able to afford to buy a Peloton bike and/or want to pay its $39 monthly fee. I didn’t want to, that is for sure. That is where the genius of their Peloton App comes into play. For only $12.99 per month, you can access all of the same live and on-demand classes on your own bike. Brilliant. There are a bunch of other bikes out there that can be paired with the Peloton App. I tried a bunch before I bought my Sunny and here is what I found.
After 550 rides with my first love – this Sunny Exercise Bike – I’ve finally taken the plunge and treated myself to a Keiser M3i. It is a beauty! My Sunny was still in great shape and in fact, I gave it to a good friend. I just wanted something new and shiny now that I proved to myself that I am in this for the long hall. According to my calculations, I think spent about $0.75 per ride with over 500 rides.
My Peloton Bike Hack! How I saved $2,400 by using the Peloton App with a less expensive bike! Learn how…
My readers are always on the lookout for a quality Peloton resistance conversion chart. A copy of a resistance chart to complete the “Peloton Hack” is probably THE number one request I receive. As I noted in my earlier “How to Measure Resistance with the Peloton App” post, the questions usually sound like this:
- How do I convert Peloton resistance to my Sunny or Keiser M3i?
- Is it worth it to buy these fancy power pedals (pretty cool, check them out!)?
- Is there anything similar to this Wahoo cadence sensor that will measure resistance?
- How do I measure resistance on my Sunny?
- How do I convert Peloton resistance when using my own bike with the Peloton App?
- Should I just give up on life and buy one of these? (Just kidding…)
Read on to learn more about resistance and see various Peloton conversion resistance charts for Sunny, Keiser, Echelon and NordicTrack spin bikes!
Coke vs. Pepsi, McDonalds vs. Burger King and now, Peloton vs. Apple Fitness+! The ultimate battle of the fitness apps and the best app for spinning. Peloton is undoubtedly the leader in the at-home spin movement and has a several year head start which was only bolstered by the pandemic. Its instructors are now celebrities with their own clothing lines and a massive social media following. If you have been following my blog, you know that while I cannot afford a Peloton bike (I started with a Sunny and after a couple of years upgraded to a Keiser M3i) I am a HUGE fan of the Peloton App – spin, cardio, HIIT, yoga – the classes are all exceptional.
But now Apple Fitness+ is in town with guns blazing! Apple Fitness+ is Apple’s new fitness app powered by Apple Watch (it doesn’t work without the watch). I thought it would be helpful if I provided a comparison between the two based on my early experiences.
Here it is – this year’s No. 1 Peloton App Accessory! Plenty of pictures and videos below.
Whether you are shopping for someone that needs a little more fun spinning at home or you are looking to spice up your spin life, this gadget is a no-brainer!
I have some exciting news. I created a dedicated Apple Fitness+ App Community on Facebook! I describe it as a safe place to help answer questions, discuss tips, tricks and share best practices while using the Apple Fitness+ App. Please join! More details below.
I have some exciting news! Equinox recently announced that starting this Fall, they will launch a digital fitness platform. This digital fitness platform will include classes and content from its family of brands, including SoulCycle and Precision Run! The new platform will integrate live and on-demand content (pre-pandemic, the content was going to be from over 300 locations but I imagine that they have streamlined that a bit).

The SoulCycle App
Hey everybody! I hope that everyone is staying safe, healthy and sane.
I decided to bring a little fun into my home gym and bought a really fun disco ball for my Peloton rides. It is SO MUCH FUN! I turn down the lights, crank up the music and turn on the disco ball – the pattern of the lights change to the beat of the music coming from the Peloton App. It comes with a small remote that I keep with my bike.
I have added some pictures and videos.
